How to survive your final year of University

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted. I've been away due to final year stress, university and being busy with life. But I'm slowly getting back into writing again. As you may know I started my final year of university last September, which is insane. I remember just moving to London as if it were yesterday! I thought I'd share some tips on how to survive your final year, seeing as I'm currently living through it. I hope these tips help you!

Beach Holiday Essentials

Since I'm from a small island in Spain, I sometimes forget that Gran Canaria is actually a holiday destination in Europe! I now spend my summers here as if I were on holiday (kind of). So I thought I'd do a post on beach holiday essentials, as suggested by my friends from Adore Me.

Summer is my favourite season of the year, even though some complain it's too warm, I still prefer it rather than being in a cold place in January (ironic considering I now live in London). It's the time of year where you take a holiday to a beach-y place, like Greece. So of course you have to prepare early!

I always end up buying more swimwear every year to the point where my closet is actually filled with one piece suits and bikins now. But it's better to stay organised before you're going on vacation right?

First things first, sunscreen. Make sure to keep yourself protected! I know I get tan way too easily, which is why I use Shisedo's SPF 50 sunscreen - it's travel size which means you can carry it in your hand luggage. Along with sunscreen I love carrying around Victoria Secret's Fragrance mist to keep myself fresh (the nice smell is a bonus!). It helps when you feel hot & sticky.

Along with those, I always carry my sunglasses and a cap to shield myself from the sun. I can't live without my shades, I have so many I end up wearing a different one per day. Plus, they help when you're taking selfies at the beach as well!

Shades - Quay

Every year I end up buying a new bikini, thinking I don't have enough. This year I decided to change it up and get a one piece instead! I have been loving one piece swimsuits recently, especially since you can pair them with shorts and sandals and you have a whole outfit on the go!

Last but not least, make sure to always have a cocktail in your hand, or a mocktail, whatever tickles you fancy.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Do you have any other holiday essentials? Let me know in the comments below!

Much love,
Amita

No. 197 Chiswick Fire Station | Sunday Brunch

Since me and my friend finished our second year of University, we decided to celebrate with brunch - because why not? Now we have so much free time! We decided to visit No. 197 Chiswick Fire Station Restaurant, as I'd been wanting to try it out for a while, plus it's very close to us! (Perks of living in West London)

Safe to say as soon as we arrived, we were immediately impressed with the decor. The interior was all white and felt very home-y, there was a bar right in the middle and many individual tables all around the restaurant. There was such a happy, lively atmosphere and everyone in the restaurant was cheerful.

They have a seating area in the garden as well, for those warm summer days. It was closed when we went since it was such a rainy day but I can imagine how nice it would be to sip on cocktails and sit in the sun outside.

The Menu had quite a variety, there were the classic brunch options like Eggs Benedict (which I sadly skipped just this time) among burgers, mac & cheese and salads all reasonably priced. I opted for the Roast Chicken since it was a while since I had a Sunday Roast, while my friend went for the Veggie Burger and fries. We were worried the dishes would be small, but actually the portion was quite big. We were both left feeling full and satisfied at the end of the meal.

Found some words of wisdom beside the Washrooms.

Needless to say I'm excited to head back there soon and try out the rest of their menu. I fell in love with the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant and will definitely be returning. It was just the place I needed to visit after countless nights of eating in during deadlines.

Have you ever visited this restaurant? Any restaurants in London you would recommend?

Much love,
Amita

Eating my way through TOKYO

Just like New York, Tokyo is a huge city filled with so many restaurants and lots of amazing street food. We discovered a lot of food places thanks to our friend, Yuka. I may have forgotten to take pictures of some of the food we ate but nevertheless there's still a lot of food we indulged in. I finally got to have proper Japanese katsu curry - I had to know if it was better than Wagamama's (it was).

Have I mentioned how cheap the food in Japan is? Six pounds for a katsu curry with rice and a side of fries? That's what dreams are made of. Follow me through the journey of discovering the best spots in Tokyo.

EATING MY WAY THROUGH KYOTO/OSAKA

If you know me, you know my life revolves around food - like I'm always thinking about food. Even on vacation I research good food places to go to (yes I know I'm that kind of girl), which was kind of the case in Japan. I thought I'd start a new series where I'd show you guys where and what I'm eating whenever I'm travelling. Obviously I had a lot of food in Japan, like I was done with ramen by the end of the trip. But it was all worth it!

I'm starting off the series with all the places I ate at in Kyoto & Osaka - We ate a lot of food so there's no space to fit it all in a post. I don't remember a lot of the names of these places but the ones I know I'll link them down below. I will also be reviewing some of these places in another post so watch out for that!

Fit for Friday Style Challenge*

Working on a Friday can be tough, especially when you're itching to finish your day and finally start your weekend off. Staying chic all day can be tough when you have no time to change your outfit and go out straight after work. I've recently teamed up with T.M. Lewin to highlight a day to night look. In this post, I'm going to give you some tips on how to stay professional and chic all throughout the day and look even better at night, without changing your outfit so many times.

Trench & Dress - T.M.Lewin / Black handbag - Prada / Black heels - New Look / Waterfall Coat - Lipsy London / Clutch & Nude Heels - Public Desire / Necklace - Topshop

Here you have the Romsey Dress, which will highlight your curves in all the right places as well as making you look smart and casual. You can start off the day by wearing a trench and pair this with a matching black handbag and heels and later change into another pair of heels, add some accessories, and you're good to go. By changing the colour of the accessories, your look immediately transforms from smart to stylish, ensuring you're ready to go out.

Suit / Shoes / Shirt - T.M.Lewin
On the other hand, I think men have it easier when it comes to dressing for work and an outing. T.M. Lewin have a selection of suits that are fit for a Friday Night out. The Jackman suit jacket paired with a white button down shirt and matching Navy trousers is a perfect combination - Classy and stylish. At the end of the day you can take off your blazer if you're heading towards the pub for a casual night out.  Likewise you can ditch the blazer and add a Navy blue Cardigan on top for a light layering on top. If you want to stay away from the Classic white shirt, you can opt for a red checkered shirt paired with the suit jacket to mix it up. To complete the outfit, the Tan Farthing Brogues are a great contrast to the suit. If you're looking for a different suit style, T.M. Lewin have a selection of suits that are fit not just for a Friday Night out, but any other ocassion.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! What would you wear to work on a Friday?  Any favourites from the post?

Lots of love,
Amita
